CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME REPORT 2018-19

"IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA AMONG STUDENTS" INTRODUCTION Conscientization is defined as the action or process of making others aware of political and social conditions, especially as a precursor to challanging inequalities of the treatment or opportunity, the fact of being aware of these conditions. Critical consciousness or conscientization is a popular education and social concept developed by Paulo Freire. It focuses on acheiving an in-depth understanding of the world, allowing for the perception and exposure of the social and political contradictions. It also includes taking action against the oppressive elements in one's life that are illuminated by that understanding. As a part of Restructured Curriculum this programme has been carried out at the time of school internship programme. The main aim of this programme is that to give awareness about "THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA AMONG THE STUDENTS ". This topic is of much importance on present situation among the teenagers. NEED & SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROGRAMME As part of the revised curriculum of B.Ed 2018-19,teacher trainees have to undertake a Conscientization Programme for the partial fulfillment of securing B.Ed Degree.It is an individual work and thus I have conducted the awareness programme on the topic "The Impact of Media among the Students ". OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME # To provide information about the impact of media among students. #To make awareness about the impact of media. #To make awareness about the use of media. # To instruct the students how to use the media. #To check the attitude of students towards media. # To make awareness about positive and negative effects of media. ORGANIZATION OF ACTIVITIES It became a fact that it should be a good chance to give valuable information to the students based on their life. So I have chosen the topic "The impact of media among the students"for the Conscientization Programme. As planned, I have conducted the programme on 23rd January, 2019 at GVHSS Vellanad. I selected 8th standard students for the programme. Then, with the help of presentation I vividly gave the information about the adverse effect of media among the students. It was an interactive section.

I asked some questions related to the topic and they answered well. They have also asked their doubts to me. I could clarify them properly. After showing the video related to the topic, I have given them a chance construct Posters.

POSTER CONSTRUCTION

Within 30minutes they have prepared the posters on the topic. I have also given a token of love to the best poster.

CONCLUSION As part of B. Ed curriculum the the teacher trainees have to undertake a Conscientization programme. I have conducted the programme at GVHSS Vellanad among 8th standard students on the topic IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA AMONG THE STUDENTS . I thought the programme gave a good impact among the students. It vividly awared the students about the impact of media. The end product of the programme was Poster construction and its a great success. VIDEO ON THE CONSCIENTIZATION PROGRAMME BASED ON THE TOPIC- " IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA AMONG THE STUDENTS ".

DAY : 35- 28/01/2019

Today was the last day of teaching practice. It was really a nice experience comprised days of teaching practice at Govt Vhss Vellanad.Today we were in somewhat busy range because we have to get signature and designation from School Principal and concern teacher. Then we have got a memorable sent off from School Authorities. That was a moment of happiness.Principal and most of the teachers have given a sweet felicitation speech for us.From their words it was clear that we have done a good job in the school. We are so and so happy that all of them loved and cared us so much.We have also given them a small token of love. We were so overwhelmed. We have also distributed sweets to the classes that we teach.It was sad moment to bid farewell to the students. By wishing them all success,we get out the class. Serving of lunch takes place at afternoon. Our junior trainees have come to school for their Induction practice. At 4 pm bidding farewell to each and every students and teachers we left the school with a heavy heart.Thus today also went well.

DAY : 34 - 25/01/2019

Today was a good day. Today classes started at 9:30 am. Today,the remaining teacher trainees have done the Conscientization Programme. One of their topics was "Disaster Management ",then another one was "Conservation of Forest"and "Leprosy". They have also used ICT for an assistance. They have clearly given the awareness about each topic to the students. Students also eagerly looked upon the topics. Posters, Models, Plucards were the end product.

Two of them have done the programme in my class, so I couldn't get the period to teach. But I have already finished the portion. So I was not tensed. I have spent the time observing and helping my collegues to do the Conscientization Programme.Today also went well with a thoughg that,there remains only one day for the end.

DAY : 33 - 24/01/2019

Today classes started as usual. My period was on the 5th period. I have taken the rest of the portions there. As it is a lengthy portion, I needed one more day to complete it. We only had two more days in the school. By keeping this in mind,the students maintain a decorum all over the period. Difficult words are being discussed. After the class,I went to one of my collegues Saranya's class to observe her Conscientization Programme. After that there was Karthika's also. They have also used ICT as an assistance. One of their topic is " Noise Pollution" and another one is "Online game Addiction". The two of them gave a good awareness among the students. The programme was very informative and interesting. Their end product was also Poster Making.
